Cuddalore District, Tamil Nadu · since 1990s

Rural women and children come first. Every single day.

AWARD TRUST works block by block across Cuddalore District — teaching children back into school, forming women’s self-help groups, and building water, sanitation and health access for families who are usually reached last.

What we do

Four things AWARD TRUST shows up for

Our objectives run wider than any one programme, but our field work in Cuddalore’s villages concentrates on these areas.

01

Education & school re-entry

Identifying school dropouts, running residential bridge camps and free tuition centres, and mainstreaming children back into regular schools.

02

Women’s empowerment

Forming self-help groups, small savings and credit circles, and vocational skill training so women gain an independent income.

03

Health, water & sanitation

Awareness camps on health, HIV/AIDS prevention and care, and safe water and sanitation access for rural households.

04

Livelihoods & agriculture

Encouraging sustainable, traditional farming methods and income-generation support for the rural poor and elderly.

Our mission

A society where dignity isn’t decided by birth

AWARD foresees a society where people have good health, wealth, equal rights and access to protected water and sanitation — and the integrated development of the rural community without gender discrimination.

We work most closely with orphans, Dalit families, women and other vulnerable children across the villages of Cuddalore District, alongside panchayats, banks and partner NGOs.
